For decades Christianity has been under assault. Heresy and compromise have risen within and attacks have assailed it from without. The Judeo-Christian ethic in our culture has been displaced by a spirit of moral decay. Popular thought has shifted so much, but many who claim a Christian heritage are not even aware of it. Our Godly ideals were hijacked by humanistic universities. For more than 90 years demonic ideologies have been used to train our brightest students (See 1 Tim. 4:1). It happened quietly, behind academic doors, but now this spirit of lawlessness is rampant in our streets. Debauchery is flaunted in the public place while the name of God is blasphemed. This down-hill slide was no accident, it was planned. God knew this demonic day would come. Revelation says the unholy will become more unholy, but the holy will become more holy (See Rev. 22:11). In other words, the battle lines have been drawn. “The Lord will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem; the earth and the heavens will tremble. But the Lord will be a refuge for His people.” Joel 3:16 When God roars, His people rise and His enemy is scattered in defeated. “The Lion has roared— who will not fear?” Amos 3:8
Bible Heroes
Hebrews 11 gives us a long list of extraordinary heroes who lived in much worse times than the ones we now face. It was their faith that overcame the world and enabled them to accomplish partnership with God. They did exploits beyond the limitations of logic. They were known as God’s friends.
Noah built an ark, Moses led a multitude through the desert, and Abraham journeyed to the Promise Land. Daniel served demonic kings until they came to the knowledge of God and David rescued a fallen nation. These heroes and many others carried the testimony of God’s kingdom in their hearts. They fought physical and spiritual battles under difficult circumstances. Heroes in this present generation will do the same. God has His mighty men and women in position. Many are not recognized but in God’s time they will emerge. God’s kingdom purpose will become evident and the work will get done. As in ancient times, these modern-day leaders will move God’s plans to the next level.
Apostles and Prophets
The roar from heaven is sounding and a new breed of apostles and prophets will appear. They come from different backgrounds and they possess subtle but dynamic gifts. Apostles and prophets vibrate with anointing and purpose when the God of Israel roars.
You may not see them yet and some may not even know they are apostles and prophets, but God is preparing them. We will see them in churches, schools, politics, the media and in the movies. Some will be world famous athletes and others will have a platform to shift the world because of their business success. Perhaps God has already shown you some of these holy ones. If so, pray for them.
The devil has brainwashed many of this generation with a twisted and demented education but he has not won the battle. There are some amazing Christian universities who are working with God to prepare young people for righteous leadership. Besides the work of these godly universities, God has another plan in place. The Holy Spirit is calling and equipping many. They are hearing the roar from Zion. The new apostles and prophets are skillful and fearless and God will bring them together in His time.
Although apostles are not mentioned in the Old Testament, many saints from that time carried God’s government with apostolic authority.
Brilliant Young People
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were apostolic because they shifted the hearts of kings, changed the culture, and influenced multitudes for God.
They were strong, courageous, intellectual, and most of all, they were totally sold out for the Lord. While they were slave/servants in a pagan land they witnessed the roar of heaven and saw God shake the world. They kept in step with Him, and were used to influence the nation for God.
Battles and Confrontation
The Hebrew brothers were just teens when they were taken to Babylon, but by God’s grace they kept the Law, maintained a kosher diet, and served pagan kings without compromising.
At first they were unnoticed but when Shadrach, Meshach and, Abednego universities, God has another plan in place. The Holy Spirit is calling and equipping many. They are hearing the roar from Zion. The new apostles and prophets are skillful and fearless and God will bring them together in His time.

At first they were unnoticed but when Shadrach, Meshach and, Abednego refused to bow before Nebuchadnezzar’s statue they became public figures.
Then God roared over Babylon and a victorious weapon was released into the atmosphere. They were rescued from the fiery furnace and promoted in the land.
God roared and His sons were elevated to positions of influence. When God roars nothing stands in His way. He prospered the Hebrew boys and prepared the path for His chosen people to one day return to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple.
Their apostolic gifts also enabled them to convert many pagan hearts to God. After the Jews left Babylon, a spiritual seed remained in the land. These young people were God’s evangelists and missionaries.
Always Be Ready
Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azeriah were their Hebrew names. They had been prepared by their parents to be amazing men of God. Here are 7 qualities they had that enabled them to rise to greatness when the God of Israel roared. Test yourself to see if you possess these attributes.
1. They put God first and they would never compromise on their faith
2. They had respect for others who were different — especially for their elders
3. They showed love and kindness to all
4. They were always eager to serve
5. They had a very strong work ethic
6. They were courageous and fearless
7. They loved all godly knowledge
A Roar Not A Program
A program will not win the battle for the life of a nation. Only a roar from heaven can shift the tide and bring victory. The roar blows away ungodly air and establishes righteousness. Apostles and prophets vibrating with the roar will walk with God to bring about change. Can you hear it? Listen to the roar from Zion in these verses.
“Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness. The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, The LORD thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic. The voice of the LORD… breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon… The voice of the LORD strikes with flashes of lightning. The voice of the LORD shakes the desert; the LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh. The voice of the LORD twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in his temple all cry, ’Glory!’ The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever. The Lord gives strength to his people.” Ps. 29:2-5, 7-11
Let prophecy, proclamation, and worship arise with holiness, and God will roar. His army will rise and no waters, cedars, oaks, or deserts can stand in His way. We need miracles, not methods, divine intervention, not division, godly anointing and not political correctness.
“The lion has roared — who will not fear? The Sovereign LORD has spoken — who can but prophesy?” Amos 3:8
